Irvine Royal Academy ‘Believes in Better’. We encourage all pupils to wear full school uniform every day.
Not only should our uniform instil a sense of pride, identity and belonging to Irvine Royal, it very much contributes to an ethos of learning and promotes equity, as well as helping us to ensure the security of the building.
Our school uniform consists of the following items:
White, Royal Blue or Black polo shirt with school badge
Or
White shirt with School tie – Blue tie (BGE) and Black tie (Senior Phase)
Black or Royal Blue jumper, hooded top with school badge or cardigan
Black trousers, skirt, jeans or leggings with school badge
School blazer (not mandatory but encouraged)
All S1 pupils were presented with their very own PE t-shirt this year as part of their induction package. If you would like to purchase additional tops, please follow the link below;
At Irvine Royal Academy, we believe that every student should feel confident and included in school. A key part of this is ensuring that all young people have access to the appropriate school uniform, regardless of their circumstances. That’s why we are proud to offer free school uniform items through our Royal Resources Shop.
Our Royal Resources Shop is an initiative aimed at supporting our school community by providing high-quality, pre-loved uniforms at no cost. We also offer casual clothing, warm jackets, toiletries, food, toys and period products. There is no stigma or judgement - this is a service for everyone who would like to use it.
If you'd like to access the Royal Resources Shop, you can visit on a Wednesday between 11am - 12pm. If you need anything out with those times, please get in touch using the email address below.
At Irvine Royal Academy, we understand that the cost of school can sometimes create barriers for young people and families. Through our Cost of the School Day Ambassadors group, we are committed to making our school as inclusive, supportive, and affordable as possible for everyone.
Our ambassadors play an active role in raising awareness of poverty and inequality within our school community. Throughout the year, they take part in activities linked to Challenge Poverty Week, lead discussions, and share ideas on how we can reduce the financial pressures that some families face.
The group also works closely with the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) as part of the CPAG Voice Network, helping to represent the views and experiences of young people in national discussions around poverty and education. Pupils attend events such as the CPAG Young People’s Summit, visits to the Scottish Parliament, and local election hustings, where they confidently share their thoughts on making school life more accessible and inclusive for all.
Our Cost of the School Day Ambassadors also work alongside our cluster primary schools, helping to build strong community links and support young people as they transition into secondary school.
At Irvine Royal Academy, we believe every young person should feel valued, included, and able to achieve their full potential, regardless of their financial circumstances. Through the continued work of our ambassadors, we are proud to promote positive change within our school and beyond.
