On Friday 14th November 2025, our S2 and S5/6 pupils participated in our annual Curricular Marketplace, a key event in the school calendar organised by the DYW team, designed to help young people explore future pathways and make confident, informed decisions about their learning.

Throughout the morning, pupils circulated around a busy exhibition area where 20 businesses and industry partners joined staff from our seven school faculties to showcase the wide range of opportunities available both within the curriculum and beyond school. Organisations represented a diverse mix of sectors — including engineering, health and social care, digital technologies, finance, hospitality, uniformed services, creative industries, and more — helping pupils see the real-world applications of their subjects.

To encourage meaningful conversations, every pupil received a stamp card, which they completed by engaging with each stand and asking questions about careers, skills, qualifications, and pathways. This interactive approach helped pupils build confidence in speaking with employers and deepen their understanding of the skills valued in today’s workforce.

The event has provided our young people with a much clearer picture of the subject choices available to them and how these link to future study, training, apprenticeships, and employment. For S2 pupils, the Marketplace offered valuable guidance ahead of their upcoming subject choices, while S5/6 pupils were able to explore next steps such as university courses, college programmes, and career-specific routes.

We are extremely grateful to all businesses and partners who gave their time to support the event, as well as to staff and pupils whose enthusiasm contributed to a vibrant, informative experience. The Curricular Marketplace continues to play an important role in helping our learners make well-informed decisions about their journey through school and into their chosen futures.
