The New Community School project is about a new way of delivering services in a co-ordinated way involving partnerships with:
Education Social Work Health Community and Voluntary Groups Careers Service Business Psychological Services The Social Inclusion Partnership Local Police
This comprehensive approach to supporting all the pupils, their families and the community is an important part of the government's strategy for tackling social exclusion and raising standards.

Irvine Royal Academy will be involved in:
Raising pupils' attainment Improving attendance Reducing exclusions Increasing the number of pupils moving on to higher and further education Increasing community involvement in lifelong learning Promoting health and fitness Improving health education
Who else will benefit from the New Community School?
The partnership approach means that benefits will spread beyond Irvine Royal Academy, Primary and Special school pupils will receive support from the project and will be closely involved in all developments. The local community will also benefit, for example, more integrated use of school facilities.

The project has four aims: Raising achievements Support for families Health promotion Lifelong learning Consultation groups will be set up to plan developments in these areas, for example: support for families--this group will support families and provide advice which will enable children to do well at school; health promotion--this group will try to think of ways of promoting a healthier lifestyle for young people.
